 It is with great pride and satisfaction that Albufeira&#x0092s Municipality stages the European Champion Clubs Cross Country Cup. This is a competition of international level which will occur in Albufeira, namely a place of enormous quality in terms of sport.

 In fact today the Açoteias Cross Country track is a reference for the practice of sports and for the staging of great events. It is in this beautiful scenery that the best European athletes will be competing, bringing the colour and radiance of high level competition to Albufeira. 

The investment in these events is fundamental in order to enable us to create the conditions of promoting a county that wants to be a leader in terms of tourism. Albufeira knows how to welcome and has all the logistic, natural and hotel conditions, to make this event a great success. 

This is what we wish and are engaged in. I would like to express a word of appreciation to the Algarve Athletic Association who has strongly engaged in bringing this race to Albufeira. 

I am certain that in this great important moment for the county, athletes, organizers and public will enjoy a race that meets all the conditions for a grand sports show which also includes the Almond Blossom Cross Country Race. 

To all the athletes and their teams committee my sincere wishes of a great stay in Albufeira. Wishing that all will go well for the organisers and to the public a word of incentive to enjoy this day and to contribute in making this day a success at all levels.
